NY Times to take down the wall?
The New York Post is saying that the NY Times is due to abandon Timesselect, it’s pay-for wall that many believe never really made any sense. It’s a good move for the Times and can only bring in more readers – and much needed advertising revenue. Now if only the Irish Times would do the same.
Meltdown
A Random Walk talked about Cramer’s outburst earlier this week. The decision on interest rates is later today, and it looks like a hold with futures pointing to a rate cut later in the year.
Cramer’s own show is legendary – but his investment advice on individual firms seems to change with the wind.
Trouble in the Caucasus
Given that the bomb did not explode, and given the history, it seems to me more likely that Russia did not attack Georgia – but that Georgia planned the whole thing. Georgia would have the means and the motive to create this situation – it seems far too strange for two Russian jets to drop a malfunctioning bomb on another sovereign state for no apparent reason.
