Kathy Rittweger vs Google, or so thinks the Guardian’s online supplement. This is exciting technology, I wonder how much of our computers will be shared with the internet in 5 years time.

Gavin, amazing and a little scary…has already saved me time by finding stuff on my hard drive I’d forgotten about or given up on…
Blinkx seems to be very similar to a product by Autonomy called Kenjin, launched a few years back but now unavailable.
this is really cool stuff. when i downloaded version 2.0, i knew about the implicit query function- you can instantly see a list of related web materials, blogs, emails, or files on my hard drive. i didn’t know about the ‘smart folders’, which are pretty amazing. blinkx organizes documents into folders for me automatically based on their actual content, and even has peer to peer capabilities so that i can download music and movies.
