Devil's Night album review

Devil’s Night is one of the most provocative rap albums. No wonder it has raised a lot of controversy.

People who haven’t followed the humorous advice at the beginning of the album must have been really shocked by its content. But the Bass brother and Rondell Beene aka Kuniva warned you:

[bass brother]
Ok
This is another
Public service announcement
Brought to you in part…

*punch*

[rondell beene]
Yo
This thing on?
Good good hell yea
Look, I’m speaking on behalf of d12
And if you get affended by words like
Bitch
Ho
Sissy
Faggot
Homo
Lezbian
Fudge packer
Clit eater
All that shit like that
Then you should turn this shit off right now
Cuz thats just some of the shit
No thats the only shit you gonna hear right here on this album
Its not that they don’t have creativity
Or some shit like that, that ain’t the case
We just like sayin shit like that, just to fuck with you
Hey! I told you to hold him down, now he’s running
Fuck it *bang*
God damnit if you would have just stayed still
Nothing would have happened to you
Just goes to show you, if you fuck with us
Shit can happen… Bitch

Conservative people might have been shocked by the material used by the D12 crew, but many other found the album a masterpiece of work.

‘ Devil’s Night ‘ is representative of the Detroit ghetto. Its references to drugs and firearms are linked with the 313 everyday reality.
‘ Shit Can Happen ‘ is another example of a good song produced by Kon Artis. It also targets anybody that would view the album a negative way. Conservative people and negative critics, you’d better watch your mouth, or Slim Shady and his D12 crew may put you down in a cemetery and bury you!

‘ Pistol Pistol ‘ is a well written and offensive track that will introduce you into the madness of a Detroit gun talk.
Still talking about madness, songs like American Psycho will make you travel through the mind of a serial killer and ‘ Devil’s Night ‘ will describe scary and typical Detroit behaviors during the night preceding Halloween.

Of course, Eminem hasn’t forgotten about his targets from the Marshall Mathers LP. ‘ Ain’t Nuttin’ But Music ‘ ridicules pop icons such as Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera.

Lyrically ‘ Purple Pills ‘ and ‘ Fight Music ‘ are real masterpieces of work. The videos of both songs are original, musically rich and simply amazing.

Globally speaking, ‘ Devil’s Night ‘ is an explosive album made of 313 gangsta tales, many references to the world of drugs and to anal sex. ‘ Devil’s Night ‘ is politically incorrect-on purpose- and offers another step in favor of freedom speech. Any true hip hop lover will fully enjoy the great album made by the 6 Detroit emcees.
