  • The Philanthropic Arm of Google

I managed to get Slashdotted over the weekend, with a spike of about 2,800 people coming in via Slashdot. It appears it was just a random selection of a blog by the poster in question, still interesting that I ranked highly for whatever term was searched for.

  • Theft

Ryan has posted a CCTV image of the person he believes to be the culprit after his wallet was stolen.

  • Munster Pubs

Ryan and Eoin have been running this blog for a while now, a review of pubs in the province of Munster. It certainly means that many of these pubs are found solely through this review blog. Go have a look…

  • C-SPAN

Since my DSL was upgraded to 1Mb, allowing 110k/sec downloads, I have become addicted to watching C-SPAN. Lengthy and in-depth, interesting interviews – indeed Steve Clemons was on Washington Journal yesterday. And you can watch the entire and very interesting John Bolton and John Negroponte hearings too. Ah how did we ever live without broadband?

  • Weekend hiatus

Yes I know you all missed me like crazy over the weekend, but I did manage to catch Be Cool and the Ring 2, buy the Economist and watch Man On Fire.

  • Lacking posts

Lots of stuff to post on, just too busy lately to do it. Do take a look at the this very long profile/interview of Robert Kaplan in streaming RealVideo. The latest issue of the Atlantic has arrived, I hope to post about the best bits over the weekend.

Well I have finally returned to the County. I have yet to watch the stint of me or my fellow bloggers on TV, but judging by the reactions around the Irish blogosphere, most are happy with our performance. I actually managed to surprise myself, whether it was the company or the pre-studio cup of tea,…

  • April Fool's Day

There should be lots of fake news stories out there, as Slugger suggests – his commenter has linked to two that are quite funny. I also think Dangermaus was having us on earlier today, with a letter threatening legal action from Brendan Grace. Anyone find any other good ones? Google launches new soft drink Steve…

  • De Telly

Following in the footsteps of fellow-poster, Uncle Anthony, I will be appearing on RTE’s Big Bite on Tuesday. It is hosted by David McWilliams. Anthony was asked to go on to talk about Charles J. I have been asked to come on to talk about blogging. It appears that Richard, Caoimhe and Mick will be…

  • Rannie on TV

My point of contact this time last year in Toronto, a really cool guy who even met me off the train, and definately the best blogger in Canada, was on TV last week. There is a link to watch it over on his blog.
