  • Podcasts

Where are all the listeners coming from? My first podcast from May is still being listened to and downloaded a few times a day. Almost nobody has left a comment. I have no idea where all these people are coming from, can anyone help? Are the podcasts being crawled and skewing the download figures?

  • Classic Catchphrase

    Hehe.

  • Mark Urban blog

For those of you who might have missed it, one of the best reporters on the BBC has started blogging. It seems to have gone unnoticed since I appear to be the only RSS subscriber. It might take a while to get his blogging mojo going, but it is definitely a blog to watch.

  • Blogroll renovation

I have been going through my blogroll and removing defunct links, and adding some new ones. If your blog is not listed please do leave a comment.

  • Adverts

I have switched off Google Ads for the time being. While the income justified their use, I can no longer justify their placement directly in individual posts. I may alter the theme in order to make them more amenable to readers, probably by placing them alongside posts rather than inside them

Eamonn points to the rather excellent Big Picture blog over at the Boston Globe. However, as a long time reader of Barry Ritholtz’s blog, also called the Big Picture, I have to say my loyalties stay with Barry. Incidentally, he isn’t too happy with other blogs ‘stealing’ the name of his finance oriented blog. The…

  • Bezos and Twitter?

Apparently. Jeff Bezo’s fund Bezos Expeditions has invested in Twitter, the micro-blogging platform. Maybe this will help with all that downtime.

  • Hegarty bows out

Shane Hegarty is bowing out of blogging, at least for now. I can entirely symphatise with his decision, having done so several times myself. It always dragged me back though. Best of luck Shane!

  • De traffic

I note with some worry that Mr Mulley and Mr Major (not John) have seen their traffic hit the circa 1 million mark. My position as one of the most trafficked (1.3m) Irish blogs is fast diminishing. Oh woe is me. What am I to do?
